Prof. Chirwa says luxurious Fallsway Apartment was even Below his Standards

FWFormer Zambia Railways executive director Professor Clive Chirwa says the K72, 000 monthly rentals at the uptown Fallsway Apartment that has landed him in court was below his standard.

Professor Chirwa who is facing two counts of corruption told the court that at his level he was supposed to be accommodated in a five star hotel where he could have been paying K272, 000 monthly rentals.

He told the court that he did not understand why people had made such a big deal about his staying in a K72, 000 apartment, when it was way below his conditions of service.

The former UPND official was shown the door after it emerged that he had failed to declare interest in awarding a contract to train human resource personnel by his company Clavel Incorporated and also the payment of K72, 000 monthly rentals for the uptown Fallsway apartments.
