Maureen-MwanawasaCHIPILI member of Parliament (MP) Davies Mwila yesterday questioned the involvement of former First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa in active politics when she is still enjoying benefits from Government.

In a point of order in Parliament, Mr Mwila wanted to know if acting Leader of Government Business in the House Yamfwa Mukanga was in order to keep quiet when Mrs Mwanawasa has joined active politics.

“Mr Speaker Sir, is Mr Mukanga in order to keep quiet when the former First Lady is participating in active politics yet she still receives benefits in form of fuel and security while campaigning at political rallies?” Mr Mwila said

In his ruling, Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini said Mr Mukanga was perfectly in order to keep quiet over the matter and advised Mr Mwila to file an urgent question that would be processed quickly.
