GaliThe political toomflery in the Patriotic Front has now sucked in opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Mazabuka Central MP Garry Nkombo who allegedly referred to Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili as ‘Chikala’ during a heated debate in Parliament.

The Mazabuka Lawmaker had raised a point of order to find out from the Speaker on whether he was going to intervene on calls by 14 cabinet Ministers for Acting Dr. Guy Scott to resign after a vote of no confidence yesterday.

This compelled Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini to inform the House he was going to go through records to ascertain whether or not Nkombo had called Kambwili ‘Chikala’ thereby breaking Parliamentary decorum.

‘Chikala’ is a highly offensive derogatory term that refers to the male genitalia although in another native language, it apparently refers to a water well.

A few years ago, then PF Rebel MP Peter Machungwa also referred to Kambwili using the same term as ‘Chikala’ forcing then Speaker of the National Assembly Amusaa Mwanamwambwa to hand out disciplinary action.
