It is not surprising that Mr. Edgar Lungu is failing to provide decisive leadership over the now fashionable load-shedding that has plagued the country. Things are not how they are supposed to be in the country right now. Businesses that are supposed to provide employment to the general citizenry are evidently losing revenue and clear losses are being recorded. Without any denial of truth, all this is happening because of this miserable load-shedding. Households have turned out to be dark dens and Zambians are wondering what has become of their country. The lack of leadership on the part of the Lungu led government is undeniable. Apart from the stories that this Lungu government keeps telling Zambians about water levels, nothing else is being said about what government plans to do about the load-shedding. Edgar Lungu and his minions and charlatans appear to be at sea. They do not know where to touch or what measures to put in place. All they are doing is do load-shedding while they enjoy the same power 24 hours a day and 7 days a week without any excuse. In all this the major problem is political incompetence. The FDD leader, Edith Nawakwi put it very well. She expressly argued that the country’s load-shedding is on account of political incompetence. When you look at the guy in charge of our government, you will have no choice but to agree that political incompetence is our bigger problem. Recently, Mr. Lungu went to watch the Kariba Dam. Now we wonder how that is going to solve the serious power deficit if there are no policy measures being taken by government to address this. In all this, we hope the good people of Zambia have learnt lessons. The point is that never go with the wind when its time for voting. This Chimwela type of voting is now costing our country heavily. For now, we are stuck with a President who seems to have zero ideas about handling crises. The moral of the story is that flush him out in 2016 and give chance to people who are willing to think and think hard for the sake of the people that they govern and provide solutions.
