PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu should not find himself in a situation where he will fail to hand over power because of the dealings that he has involved himself in, says Senanga UPND member of parliament Likando Mufalali.
In an interview, Mufalali said the earlier President Lungu prepared himself for exit, the better.
“I think looking at the rate at which Mr Lungu and the PF are going, it is evident that they have failed. The Zambians have lost confidence in him and his party. They [PF] have messed up the economy, the governance system and all they need now, especially Mr Lungu, is to start packing their bags,” Mufalali said.
“We don’t want him to find himself in a situation where he will fail to hand over power. Failure to hand over power always comes with certain implications and it is driven by certain things that could have had happened while in government. People fail to hand over power because they have cut a lot of deals with criminals and they have become corrupt. In that case, you can see the rate at which we are moving and the friendships that we have managed to acquire within a short time.”
He said Zambians have realised and seen that there was nothing President Lungu could do to change and transform the country.
