United Party for National Development (UPND) National Trustee Maybin Mubanga says the opposition political party has departed from its original ideals on which it was founded on.
And Mubanga says President Edgar Lungu is a visionary who deserved another term of office to continue stirring Zambia to greatness.
Mubanga, says he had decided to leave the UPND and join the ruling Patriotic Front because the party had a clear vision for the country.
In a briefing to the media at Lusaka’s Chrismar Hotel, Mubanga urged Zambians to rally behind President Lungu because his administration has continued to make resolute decisions to ensure that the country’s economic interests were protected.
“Today, Zambians across the nation will agree that President Lungu’s econmic vision for the nation when he opened Parliament revived the hopes for a better Zambia” Mubanga said.
Mubanga served as Mwansabombwe M.P and Agriculture Deputy Minister in President Mwanawasa’s government.
And in welcoming Mubanga to the party PF Secretary General Davies Chama said the PF was a party for Zambians and had a heart for the country.
Chama, who was flanked by his Mobilisation Chairman Charles Banda said the party kept on growing as evidenced by the huge numbers that it kept on receiving.
And the PF Secretary General has appealed to women to come out and apply for adoption as 40% of seats had been reserved for them in the party’s adoption process.
Chama dismissed assertions that PF had no calibre people and had decided to extend the adoption process.
