meetingUPND leader Hakainde Hichilema yesterday hosted a powerful prayer luncheon of more than 150 clergy from various denominations as part of the prayers for peace and unity in the nation ahead of the upcoming general elections.
The prayer session was also attended by UPND Vice-Presidents Mr. Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, Dr. Canisius Banda, National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango, and other senior party officials.
Mr. Hichilema reiterated on the need to strengthen the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation both in word and deed.
He added, ‘Only that way would the country bring up a God fearing generation that would not tamper with public resources through corrupt and other ungodly acts.’
He called for strong linkages between the church and government going forward to serve the needs of the clergy and Christian community in the country.
